Part 1& 2 will focus on contrast with examples on how to achieve it.

In most everything, content is king. In typography, contrast is king.
Here are a few ways to achieve greater
contrast in your design
1. Big & Small
z. Bold & Light
3. Mixing Typefaces
4. Solid & Texured
Big & Small  Example in scale. Your eye will
generally focus on the largest,
highest contrast element on
the page
2 Bold & Light
Example in weight. Through thick and thin - you can pair dramatically different weights to enhance contrast
Mixing Typefaces  Example in type pairing. Mix and
match different classifications of
typefaces including: sans, serif, script
blackletter, Egyptan, and decorative.
Solid & textured
example in texture & pattern.
experiment with different textures, patterns and overlays to create variation in tone and weight
