Many successful businesses have unique elements that give them a competitive edge, some can be built with the company, others are built on the back of a lifetime of experience ⌛

Think about the companies that make a big splash in the market, most have unique elements that are hard to replicate.

It’s important to remember though that creating these unique elements means making choices, not just about what you will do, but what you won’t ☝

Being unique takes effort...

Example If you were starting a new pizza business, it would be a given that you sold pizza.
You might differentiate yourself by using unusual pizza toppings that other pizza places don't use.
You could make yourself unique by using robots to cook and deliver your pizzas. Your competitors won't be able to copy you easily, because it would mean changing how they currently run their business.

Being unique is about making strategic choices which give you a competitive edge, and limit your competitor's ability to copy you.
But, if you're successful, they'll definitely try.
